Panathinaikos move into second place in Group B following a 0-1 win at Internazionale while Anorthosis drop to third after a 2-2 draw with Werder Bremen.
The only goal at Giuseppe Meazza stadium was scored by José Sarriegi on the 69th minute, handing Panathinaikos a surprising and very important victory.
Anorthosis were on their way to another good result against Werder Bremen with Nikolaou opening the score on 62 minutes and Savio doubling the advantage six minutes later.
But Diego converted a spot kick in the 72nd minute and Hugo Almeida earned Werder a draw with his equalised in the 87th.
As a result, Inter do keep their lead in Group B but Panathinaikos follow at only one point. Anorthosis are third at another point and Werder have to focus on conquering a spot in the UEFA Cup.
