Portuguese goalkeeper Quim has signed a three year contract with Sporting Clube de Braga after leaving domestic giants SL Benfica. The 34 year old, whose full name is Joaquim Manuel Sampaio Silva, returns to Braga after a gap of six years.

Quim started off his career with Braga in 1994 and spent a decade with the club before transferring to Benfica in 2004. His contract with Benfica was due to expire this summer, but the Eagles chose not to extend it.

Benfica won the 2009-10 Portuguese Liga with 76 points, while Braga
finished second with 71 points. Quim will also get another crack at the Champions League with Braga.

Quim started off as Portugal’s No.1 during their qualification campaign, but lost his spot to Eduardo and was not selected in Carlos Queiroz’s 23 member squad for the World Cup.
