Rabiot: City got lucky in Paris

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot said Manchester City were fortunate to leave the French capital with a share of the spoils and two priceless away goals on Wednesday.

The Champions League quarter-final tie is evenly poised after PSG and City played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in the first leg in Paris.

Kevin De Bruyne gave City an unlikely 38th-minute lead after Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s penalty was saved by Joe Hart earlier in the half, but the Swede finally found the back of the net prior to the break.

Rabiot then tapped in to put PSG ahead on the hour-mark, while Ibrahimovic was denied by the crossbar as Fernandinho scuffed home an equaliser, albeit with some help from a deflection, 18 minutes from time.

Speaking afterwards, Rabiot – who played for City’s youth team – bemoaned via UEFA.com: “We could have kept the edge.

“They scored after a mix-up … They were lucky, but it was an open game.

“We still have all the chances to advance. We’ll have to win there.”

PSG head to the Etihad Stadium in Manchester for the return leg on April 12.
