Race hots up for Ricardo Rodriguez

Top European clubs are lining up for Wolfsburg full-back Ricardo Rodriguez, Spanish daily newspaper AS has suggested.

With the player’s €25 million release clause having expired on 30 June, it appears his suitors have missed a perfect opportunity to secure his services at a reasonable price, but there is still a good chance the Switzerland starlet will be leaving the Wolves this summer.

According to reports, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Arsenal are all keen, and at least one of said clubs is expected to come forward with an official proposal.

The defender has already suggested that he is ready to leave for greener pastures and Wolfsburg officials are ready to grant him that wish, although they will certainly not be selling him on the cheap.

Ricardo Rodriguez, 23, has developed into one of the key members of the squad at Volkswagen Arena, scoring 20 goals and setting up and another 25 in 157 competitive outings.
