Ramirez seals Middlesbrough loan

Middlesbrough have signed Gaston Ramirez on loan from Southampton for the remainder of the season, according to the Mail Online.

The Uruguay international has barely featured for the Saints this campaign, will all three of his Premier League appearances coming as a substitute and his only start coming in a 2-1 League Cup victory over Aston Villa.

Having fallen out of favour under manager Ronald Koeman last season, the twenty-five year old spent last season on loan at Hull City, where he played twenty-two time though he was unable to help them avoid relegation to the Championship.

Now he is set to help Boro on their promotion push, which was halted by a 1-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

The north-east side are currently second in the table, one point behind leaders Hull with a game in hand and are favourites to win the division.
