Ramsey: Easy to choose Gunners

Aaron Ramsey says pledging his future to Arsenal was an easy call as he hopes to help the club into a new successful era.

The midfielder was joined in penning a new deal by defenders Kieran Gibbs and Carl Jenkinson along with fellow midfielders Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

And, with their futures now sorted, the Wales international hopes the five of them can form a core group of British players that take the club into the future.

“I’m really pleased to get my contract sorted out,” Ramsey told the Arsenal’s official website.

“It was an easy decision. I had a few years left on my contract but extended it again, which is pleasing.

“It is great news [that the other four have also signed], all of them are very talented and have a big future.

“Jack always competes, always wants the ball and his determination is second to none.

“Gibbo is always up and down the flank and gets into some great positions. He scored against Swansea and also has a couple of assists this season, so that’s been good for him.

“Carl is a solid right-back with a great engine who can get up and down his flank as well to support his winger and get crosses in.

“Chambo is exciting, he can beat a player and can also finish as well.

“Obviously we are going to get better and more experienced, so hopefully we can achieve something with this group of players.”

The Gunners will be looking to bounce back from a 2-0 loss at home to Manchester City in the Premier League at the weekend when they host Swansea City in an FA Cup third-round replay on Wednesday.

Not good news for fans. He runs around like a headless chook. Can’t see what Wenger sees in him.
