Rangers 15/8 to beat Ufa in Thursdays Europa League qualifier

Competition: Europa League qualifier

Market: Rangers win

Odds: 15/8 @ Bet 365

Now just one match away from booking their spot in the Europa League group stages, Steven Gerrard will be looking to carry on from an impressive start at Ibrox when they travel to Russia on Thursday.

Starting with the hosts, while they may have scrapped a sixth-place finish in the Russian Premier League last season, Ufa have been drastically short of form entering the new season. With Sergei Tomarov’s side just coming past Progrès Niederkorn in the last round, the Russian side drastically struggled at Ibrox last week and were lucky to just leave on the end of a 1-0 loss. Coming off the back of a 2-0 loss to powerhouses Zenit, Ufa have now lost four of their last five and in each of those defeats they failed to register a single goal.

As for Rangers, while many were skeptical of Ranger’s decision to bring in Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, the former England captain has improved the atmosphere in Glasgow. Coming off the back of a dramatic 3-3 draw with Motherwell, Gerrard will be glad to see that summer signing Kyle Laferty has hit the ground running. The Northern Irish center forward scored a brace last weekend and will be a man to watch on Thursday. Now remarkably unbeaten in any competition since April, we’re backing the Blues to come away with a spot in the group stages of this years Europa League.
