Andrea Ranocchia has hailed Inter Milan’s fighting spirit and says the team always believe in themselves after beating Bologna 3-2.
Inter gave away a two-goal lead in the Coppa Italia match against Bologna on Tuesday, but bounced back and eventually emerged victorious thanks to a late extra-time winner from defender Ranocchia.
They will now take on Roma in the semi-finals of the competition, with the first leg due to be played at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday.
“We kept believing right ’till the end in the Coppa Italia, we’re a team that never gives up and now we’ll try and get back to the top of the league,” Ranocchia told the club’s official website.
“Now we’ve got two tough matches coming up, but they’ll be fun to play. Roma have a great front line, they attack the box with numbers and try to overload you.”
Ranocchia then went on to single out Francesco Totti as Roma’s main attacking threat.
“Will Totti play? He’s a champion, in some ways it’d be better if he weren’t playing but it’s always fun to play against great players.”
