Rapid Wien have won the Austrian Bundesliga on the penultimate day of the season with a 3-0 home win against SCR Altach meaning FC Salzburg's win against FK Austria Wien was in vain.

Rapid went into the game knowing that three points would leave defending champions Salzburg powerless to stop them winning their 32nd title and were two up within the first ten minutes.
Branko Bosković opened the scoring after a swift Rapid move in the seventh minute and Stefan Maierhofer doubled the lead soon after. Austria forward Erwin Hoffer added the third just after the half-hour mark with the only further major event being Altach's Manfred Pamminger being sent off eight minutes from time.
