Reading bring in Knight until the end of the season

Reading have signed former Fulham, Bolton Wanderers and Aston Villa centre-back Zat until the end of the season, according to Talksport.

The 34 year old has been without a club since his spell with MLS side Colorado Rapids ended by mutual consent last month.

Before moving overseas, Knight racked up over 400 club appearances in all competitions, while his two caps for England came in friendly victories over Colombia and the United States a decade ago.

He had been on trial with Watford, but has now joined up with fellow Championship side Reading on a short-term deal.

Royals boss Steve Clarke had been on the lookout for an experienced defender to help cope with their hectic schedule, which includes Monday evening’s FA Cup quarter final replay against Bradford City.

Two days prior to that game, they travel to promotion hopeful’s Watford where they can be backed at 15/4 to take all three points.
