The Daily Star is reporting that Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is the main summer transfer target for Real Madrid.
It is being suggested that the La Liga champions will offer either Gonzalo Higuain or Karim Benzema, plus cash, to land the Argentine forward, who of course used to play for Real’s city rivals Atletico Madrid.
Despite Aguero seeming to enjoy his time at Manchester City right now, a move back to Spain is always likely to tempt him.
The English Premier League champions don’t look like defending their title this campaign and struggled in the Champions League once more, something that would have frustrated Aguero.
Also, Real feel as though they could lose Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer transfer window and they want to bring another big name in to keep fans happy.
Roberto Mancini won’t want to lose his star striker, but if he can bring in good money and also get one of Higuain or Benzema – who are both top class forwards – he might see it as good business.
Not only are they likely to go for Aguero, but Tottenham Hotspur’s Gareth Bale also seems to be on the radar of the Spanish giants.
We shall see.
