Real linked to Mandzukic; Kalou hints at Premier League return

hot-transfer-newsReal linked to Mario Mandzukic

Real Madrid are considering a summer move on Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic, reports Punto Pelota.

Los Blancos are a bit short of quality options up front after selling Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli and they are reportedly looking to sign a high-profile striker.

According to the Spanish TV show, Real Madrid will attempt to lure Mario Mandzukic from Bayern Munich.

The Croat has three years left on his deal at Alianz Arena, but his starting berth could be in danger next season as the Bavarians are expected to complete the signing of Robert Lewandowski.

Mandzukic, therefore, might be interested in an offer from Madrid, even if he recently stated that he planned to finish his career in Munich.

The 27-year-old joined Bayern from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2012 and has since bagged 19 goals in 30 Bundesliga matches.

Kalou hints at Premier League return

Lille forward Salomon Kalou has refused to rule out a possibility of returning to English Premier League.

The Ivorian left Chelsea for les Dogues in the summer of 2012, but it appears he has regretted leaving arguably Europe’s strongest competition.

After flirting with a number of Premier League clubs this summer, the 28-year-old has revealed that he may be returning to England after all.

“Who knows? I may come back to England,” Kalou confessed to French newspaper Le Parisien.

“Several clubs already contacted me this summer. At the moment, I am pleased at Lille.”

Kalou has quickly adapted to French Ligue 1, scoring 14 goals in 28 matches for les Dogues last season.

He has been a bit less productive this term, netting two times in seven league appearances.

Monaco close in on Rui Patricio

French giants Monaco are stepping up their efforts to sign Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio, according to Record.

The Principality Club have signed Sergio Romero on a season-long loan from Sampdoria, but the mere fact he has yet to be handed his debut is enough to suggest he is not held in high regard by boss Claudio Ranieri.

Record has suggested that Monaco are set to make a move on long-term target Rui Patricio, who continues to be linked with a move away from the club.

The Portugal international is widely regarded as one of Europe’s top goalkeepers, and he has admitted that he is looking for a new challenge after spending last 13 years at Estadio Jose Alvalade.

Chances are he will be interested in a move to Monaco, who currently lead the race in French Ligue 1, and are 9/4 to remain at the top come end of the season.
