Real Madrid travel to the Stadio Olimpico to face Italian Serie A side AS Roma in the first leg of the Champions League knockout round, and are big favourites to come out on top given their fine form in their domestic league of late.

Real are enjoying a fantastic run of results under interim manager Zinedine Zidane and are hoping that can extend into Europe to stand a chance of another deep run in the competition. In the Spanish La Liga, Los Blancos have won five of their last six so they’re in pole position to dispatch of Roma.

The Italians have rectified their previous poor form with four consecutive wins in the league, but were far from convincing in Europe. Roma won just one of their six group games to surprisingly qualify in second place with just six points. Their defensive record was woeful too, and they are likely to struggle keeping Real quiet.
