Real Madrid linked with Stones move

Real Madrid will move for Everton’s John Stones if Raphael Varane leaves, according to Talksport.

Varane has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United over the past few seasons, and Chelsea are also interested though he has remained at the Bernebau.

However, with both Premier League outfits willing to offer him an increase in wages, there is a chance that a deal could be struck.

Should that happen, the La Liga giants have identified Everton’s Stones, who himself has been the subject of transfer speculation this summer, as an ideal replacement.

Everton managed to fend of Chelsea’s advances for the England international, who has played every minutes of the Toffee’s Premier League campaign so far this season.

His last appearance came against the Premier League champions on Saturday afternoon when Roberto Martinez’s men secured a shock 3-1 victory.

Real Madrid thumped Shakthar Donetsk in their Champions League Group A opener, and can now be backed at 9/2 to reclaim the trophy from rivals Barcelona.
