Real Madrid looking to sign striker

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has revealed that the club are looking to bring in a new striker this summer.

Mourinho is looking to bring in a new defender and a new forward, following Raul’s move to Schalke.

“Apart from signing a new defender, I also want to add another forward to the team. A new attacker would be very much welcome. I’d rather have one more forward than being short of options up front,” Mourinho told AS.

“I currently have Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema for the striker position, while Cristiano Ronaldo could also play there. However, I prefer to give him a bit more freedom on the pitch. He’s too talented to have him up front all the time.”

you know, they already have enough strikers. why buy another one?

  2. Ld says:

they really need at least 2 more realisticaly.
Every soccer team should have 4 or more forwards/strikers.

  3. Madridista says:

i think that real madrid have a new strikers but the question is who will they take? berbatov ,amauri, milito

  4. They would not to prosecute a four pronged title fight with Benzema and Higuain. Very smart to have another striker, preferably a big one in the mold of Didier, so that when it turns scrappy, they could still get a result.

messi is one villa is another one

  6. Chelsea FC Fan says:

Drogba won’t leave Chelsea unless he’s told to.

  7. Brad says:

even then, I dont think drogba would leave.

  8. i think milito, pato or drogba should go and help out higuain.but any body that would go wont be able to beat the catalanes.
    forza barca

  9. Chelsea FC Fan says:

I don’t think it’s even remotely possible so Drogba’s name should be left out of this…

There is no way Chelsea would give him up and there’s no way Madrid could lure him away from Chelsea and play back-up to Benzema and Higuain…those two are nowhere near DD’s class (currently) and he won’t take a backseat to them.

And, i’m sorry to say, but DD won’t be DD without Nico around him. You can say what you want about Nico – he might not put up the numbers, but the creativity, space and options he gives to DD is an unprecedented partnership. Neither are the same, or better, without each other.

  10. Brad says:

ur right CFC Fan. Drogba, even though I hate it when he scores against the Red Devils (especially like back in March), he is better off in the EPL, wherever Anelka is. I take it Anelka is who “Nico” stands for, right?

  11. Chelsea FC Fan says:

You got it Brad (Nico = Anelka).

I don’t know where he’d be better off…maybe Madrid would bring out even more in him, but who knows? I do know tho that the Drogba/Anelka duo is a match made in heaven for Chelsea fans and it works well at Chelsea and for the players themselves. I’m highly confident that neither Drogba, or Chelsea, will let that go (haha…more like I pray they won’t!)

  12. Brad says:

Yeah, I’d say the Nico/Drogba duo is a match for even the old Pele/Garrincha duo of the 50s and 60s. the only way to ruin something like that would be to make Drogba leave for Madrid.

  13. Chelsea FC Fan says:

Real Madrid should pluck Ibra from Barca now…

I think he’s a perfect fit to lead Madrid’s attack.

  14. Chelsea FC Fan says:

Whoa Brad – that’s a bit of a stretch…there’s so much to take in to consideration there. DD and Nico are far superior athletically but compare their technical skill and smarts and I don’t think DD and Nico are in the same league as Pele/Garrincha…if they were, we’d have Champions League crowns by the handful by now.

  15. Brad says:

    oh yeah good point.

  16. omid says:

i think the best striker for mourinho would be luis fabiano or diego forlan but none of them have beed spoken about

  17. olamilekan says:

dis is where mourinho wil be dissapointed.
if mourinho lift dis trophy up again dat means is a witch.

  18. Chelsea FC Fan says:

lol@olamilekan…witch?! hahah…that’s hilarious! I get your point tho and that would be unreal if he does lift all 3 trophies again… Mourinho is my runner up to win everything if Chelsea does not.

  19. Chelsea FC Fan says:

Man….Mourinho is sure beating the drums to call on Gerrard, Cole and Drogba.

What a fu&n’ team Madrid would be if those players went…

I’m not even bothered by Mourinho calling on them for some reason…I don’t want to see Chelsea without these two, but then again, i’d love to see these two dismantle Barcelona along with CR.

  20. Brad says:

La Liga is really only interesting for the El Classico derby. nothing else in that league matters, cuz it always comes down to those 2 teams.

  21. ace says:

well, all that is changing really…i think its just the spanish thing…but spains league is still second best..

  22. damion says:

    madrid needs two great defenders
