La Liga continues on Monday evening as the teams in Spain’s top league continue to do battle. Gaps are starting to appear between the teams throughout the league, while the top sides are all looking to chase down runaway leaders Barcelona. However, the game between Real Sociedad and Espanyol pertains to the lower-half of the table, with both sides separated by just four points.

Sociedad have looked fairly good so far this season, winning four games, drawing one and losing three. In conjunction with this is the fact they have managed to score 19 times this campaign, which is more than Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. However, where they have fallen foul is in their defence. They have conceded 17 times this season which is worse than Alaves who are in the relegation zone. If the hosts are to push on and take a place further up the table then their defensive solidity must be as good as their incisive attack.

The visitors come in the shape of Espanyol and they are not in the best of form lately. They have won just two games to go with two draws and three defeats. Defensively, they have seen 11 goals go past them which is not good enough, while their attack cannot compensate for this, hitting the back of the net just seven times. If Espanyol are to get out of the mess they have found themselves in then they must remedy both facets of their game. With this in mind, Bet365 have given Real Sociedad odds of 17/20 to beat Espanyol.
