Real will not be signing replacement for Carvajal

Reports in Spain suggest that Real Madrid have opted against recruiting a new right-back in the January window.

Los Blancos find themselves short of options on the right flank after Dani Carvajal was diagnosed with a heart condition.

The Spain international is expected to miss at least two months of action, but Marca claims Real Madrid will not be signing a new right-sided defender.

Versatile defender Nacho Fernandez and youngster Achraf Hakimi will be deputising for Carvajal for the time being, but it remains to be seen how they will cope.

Dani Carvajal, 25, has fared admirably ever since he returned to the club from Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 2 goals in 112 La Liga matches.
