Roma captain Francesco Totti, who in April had an operation on his right knee, took part in a friendly match Thursday, according to the news agency Ansa.

The Italian international came on in the second half of the game against local team Frosinone, Ansa said.

The 31-year-old is aiming to be fit for the Italian Supercup against Inter Milan on August 24, according to the sports daily Corriere dello Sport.

Totti ruptured knee ligaments against Livorno in April, ending his season prior to Roma's 2-1 Italian Cup victory against Inter but still finishing with 18 goals in all competitions.
