Reid nearing Hammers exit

Winston Reid appears to be edging closer to a move away from West Ham United with his wage demands making a January sale almost certain, according to the Mirror.

The centre back has been one on several key performers in an impressive start for Sam Allardyce’s side, who currently sit fourth in the Premier League after taking twenty-six points from their opening fifteen games – a tally they didn’t reach until February last season.

His contract is set to expire at the end of the season, so the Hammers may well cash in when the transfer window reopens with both Arsenal and Liverpool interested in securing his services.

Since arriving at Upton Park from Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland in the summer of 2010, the New Zealand has made one hundred and fourteen appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals.

He was part of the squad that won promotion back to the Premier League via the play-offs in 2012 and was named the club’s player of the season a year later.
