Reina considering Barca return

Pepe Reina has opened the door to a potential return to Barcelona at the end of the season, but has denied that a deal has already been done, according to the Express.

The Spain international was linked with a move back to the club where he began his career during the summer before eventually penning a season-long loan deal at Napoli – a move which saw him reunited with former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez.

The Serie A side confirmed earlier this week that they will not extend the 31 year old’s stay beyond the current campaign, and that he will return to Merseyside.

However, with Simon Mignolet already well and truly established as Liverpool’s first choice goalkeeper, Reina’s time with the five-time European Champions appears to be all but over.

Barcelona are in the market for a new number one, with Victor Valdes set to bring his time at the Nou Camp to a close when his contract expires next summer.
