Relegation-threatened Everton join the Sanchez chase

It has been a week of swirling rumours surrounding Alexis Sanchez. Just as the news arrived that front runners Manchester City were pulling out of the race to sign the talented Chilean in January, so too did the shock revelation that struggling Everton may make a stunning move for the winger, according to the Mirror.

Having refused to sign a new contract at Arsenal, Sanchez is now reportedly available for a cut-price fee in January as the Gunners look to salvage some sort of value from one of their star players. Manchester City were the favourites to acquire the 28-year old’s services, but the Citizens recently pulled out of negotiations in the hope of luring Sanchez to the Etihad for free in the summer.

However in a stunning move Everton, who have already splashed out over £100m on players in the summer, are reportedly readying a £30m bid for the Chile international. Sanchez had previously stated that he wants to move on to a Champions League team, but the Merseyside club are convinced that a monster wage package will be an attractive enough prospect.
