Internacional are reportedly on the verge of re-signing Nilmar from Villarreal for a fee of five million euros.
According to Globoesporte, the Brazilian outfit have already agreed personal terms with the forward, who left the Beira-Rio for El Madrigal in 2007.
The paper claims all that Internacional are waiting on is for Villarreal to accept their offer, but the club’s vice-president of football Luciano Davi was giving nothing away when quizzed on Nilmar’s proposed return.
“Inter is working on hiring two to three players,” he told Globoesporte. “While the (deals) are not finalised, they are all still just dreams.”
Nilmar, who has 23 Brazil caps to his name, had been on the verge of joining Sao Paulo earlier this year but the deal collapsed because of the player’s wage demands.
It is believed Villarreal, who were relegated from La Liga last season, have higher offers for the 27-year-old striker but he is said to be set on a return to the club where he started his career.
