The injury suffered by Franck Ribéry during France’s clash with Italy on Tuesday, is not as serious as feared.
Initial fears were that Ribéry fractured his leg but the injury is significantly less serious than that.
The midfielder, who showed to be France’s best player at the moment, had to be substituted after only eight minutes after a tackle on Gianluca Zambrotta.
It was the start of a miserable night for Les Bleus, who went on to lose 2-0 and crashed out of Euro 2008.
