Richards set for City exit

Liverpool are set to make a move for Micah Richards after he revealed that he will be leaving Manchester City at the end of the season, the Metro understands.

The defender, who has been with City for his entire career, had been in discussions over a new deal at the Etihad Stadium despite barely featuring over the past eighteen months due to injury.

However, despite the talks, the 25 year old is ready to move on after not receiving assurances regarding his future.

The news will be welcomed by Reds’ boss Brendan Rodgers, who is an admirer of the England international, and was even linked with a bid for him during the last transfer window.

The Premier League leaders host title favourites Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, in a game which is being described as one which will decide the championship and the home win can be backed at 7/5.
