Sascha Riether has agreed to join Fulham on a permanent deal following his loan spell from Cologne, the German club have confirmed.
The 30-year-old, who has been twice capped by Germany at international level, moved to Craven Cottage on a season-long loan deal in July following Cologne’s relegation from the Bundesliga last season.
Riether has impressed during his first season in the Premier League, nailing down the right-back spot in Martin Jol’s side, who can still seal a place in the top half if they win at Swansea.
Speaking about his transfer Riether said: “The club and the city have grown on me during my time in the Cologne.
“I am pleased after a first season in England and am focused on my other tasks in Fulham. I wish FC Cologne only the best and the imminent promotion to the Bundesliga.”
Riether has made 38 appearances in all competitions for Fulham this season, netting one goal.
