Porto winger James Rodriguez has confirmed that he expects to leave the club in the close season, amid rumours he could move to Monaco.

Reports have suggested that the Colombian is on the brink of a move to Stade Louis II ina deal that would also include Porto team-mate Joao Moutinho.
Atletico Madrid star Radamel Falcao is rumoured to also be close to moving to the principality for a 60 million euro fee and Rodriguez has lent weight to the reports by admitting he is likely to depart the Estadio do Dragao after helping Porto to this season’s Primeira Liga title.
He told O Jogo: “Honestly? I think I will leave. I am not sure if what they say is true, or if I leave now or later. But I think I will leave.

“A player always wants to move on and play at a bigger club. Porto is great, but there are bigger clubs and I want to continue to achieve important things.”

With the Colombian set to depart when the transfer window re-opens, Porto have gone some way to replacing him already, by signing Estoril playmaker Carlos Eduardo.

The Brazilian netted four times in 27 league appearances as the Lisbon side qualified for the UEFA Europa League and is already eyeing greater success with his new club.
“I’m very happy,” said the 23-year-old. “My expectations are to win titles, I came to a winning club.”
