Rojo rejected chance to join Monaco in proposed Martial swap deal

Marcos Rojo rejected the chance to move to Monaco as part of the deal that saw Anthony Martial move to Manchester United, according to the Daily Star.

The Argentina international has not featured under for Louis van Gaal’s side so far this season, with the United manager opting to play Daley Blind at centre-back.

Marseille and Valencia were also interested in securing the twenty-five year old’s services, but he is determined to fight for his place at Old Trafford.

Last season, Rojo played twenty-five times in all competitions, scoring his one and only goal for the club so far in the 3-0 FA Cup fourth round replay victory over Cambridge United back in February.

He also has thirty-seven caps for his country, one of which came in last summer’s World Cup final where the South American side lost in extra-time to Germany.

United host fierce rivals Liverpool on Saturday, with the home win priced at 10/11.
