AS Roma’s former French international Ludovic Giuly on Friday signed for Paris St Germain, the Parisian club’s president Charles Villeneuve announced.
The 32-year-old Giuly - who scored 19 goals during a three-year stint at Barcelona from 2004 to 2007 - is reported to have a penned a 2.5 million euro deal.
Rumours linking the midfielder, who won 17 international caps and netted on three ocasions, with a move back to France have been rife but Villeneuve said he had received faxed confirmation from the Italian club.
PSG had a disappointing 2007-08 season under coach Paul Le Guen, winning the League Cup but only narrowly avoiding relegation on the final day of play.
Giuly is their second new recruit, following last week’s signing of Le Mans’ Benin international Stephane Sessegnon.
