Roma agree deal for Abner

Italian daily Il Corriere dello Sport has learned that AS Roma have reached an agreement to sign Coritiba defender Abner Felipe Souza de Almeida.

The Giallorossi sporting director Walter Sabbatini revealed on Friday that the club had already acquired one player for the 2014/2015 season.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the player in question is Coritiba full-back Abner, who has also been followed by Manchester City and Udinese.

Roma will have to wait until the player turns 18 next May before they can wrap up the deal, but the transfer has been agreed in principle.

The 17-year-old has been handed his senior debut for Coritiba last month, while he has already featured in 4 matches for Brazil Under-21 side.

AS Roma have largely impressed at the start of the Serie A campaign, winning eight straight league fixtures, but they are still no less than 5/2 to lift their first league title since 2001.
