Roma may have to battle it out with Tottenham for the signature of Monaco striker Nene according to a report on Channel4.com.
However, the player’s agent, Antonio Caliendo, does not believe the move to Roma will materialize while Skysports.com reports that there is no interest from the Premier League club.
Laromasiamonoi.it reports that Caliendo said, “Effectively there was a contact,â€Â
“However it was just a ‘pour parler’.â€Â
“I think that Roma have other objectives, like for example Julio Baptista, who is almost on his way.â€Â
The 27 year old Brazilian forward claims he has been approached by both clubs saying, “I have had contact with representatives of those two teams.â€Â
“They asked Monaco about my situation and about the possibility of buying me. Regarding Spurs, I believe their manager Juande Ramos has a good impression of me because I always played well against his old side Seville.â€Â
“As for Roma, they played a friendly against Monaco here and that is when the first contact was made. They told me that they are waiting to see if they are signing Julio Baptista and then they would return for me.â€Â
