Italian giants AS Roma are showing interest in Saint Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier, according to L’Equipe.
It is no secret the Giallorossi are on the lookout for a long-term successor to Morgan De Sanctis and the France international appears to be high on their wish list.
Roma boss Rudi Garcia is well aware of Ruffier’s qualities having worked in French Ligue 1 and the Serie A side are widely expected to step up their interest ahead of the summer transfer window.
The highly rated goalkeeper has so far resisted temptation to leave les Verts for greener pastures, but he reportedly hopes to continue his career in Italy.
Ruffier recently signed a contract extension until June 2018, meaning he will not come on the cheap.
Fifth-placed Saint Etienne play host to title contenders Marseille later today and les Verts can be backed at 7/5 to claim maximum points and improve their Champions League hopes.
