According to a report on BBC Football, Chelsea winger Florent Malouda has been linked with a move to AS Roma on loan.
Roma were hoping to land Julio Baptista but Real Madrid is not willing to release him on a temporary deal.
The French international has struggled to secure a place in the starting XI since signing with the Blues in July of lat year, so the Londoners would probably be willing to loan him out to the Italian side.
The 28-year old is seen as a capable replacement for Inter signing Amantino Mancini as they share the ability to play out wide in Roma’s 4-2-3-1 system.
Roma captain Francesco Totti had warned earlier this week that his side needed to bring in no less than two star signings to compete with the likes of AC Milan, Internazionale and Juventus.
Reports have suggested another possible option for the Italian club could be Atletico Madrid’s Jose Antonio Reyes.
