Roma ponder swoop for Debuchy

France Football understands that AS Roma are hot on the trail of Arsenal full-back Mathieu Debuchy.

The Giallorossi aim to offload veteran defender Douglas Maicon at the earliest opportunity and add a new right-back to their ranks.

According to France Football, Roma coach Rudi Garcia wants to get reunited with Mathieu Debuchy after the pair worked together at Lille for almost five years.

The Frenchman is currently playing second fiddle to Hector Bellerin at Arsenal and he is desperate to leave the Gunners in search of first team football.

Debuchy wants to play himself back into the first team plans of France coach Didier Deschamps and he can only do that if he secures regular playing time.

The experienced defender has already spoken with Lucas Digne about the potential move to Stadio Olimpico and it only remains to be seen whether AS Roma can agree on a loan deal with Arsenal.
