Roma start search for new left-back

AS Roma are looking at a number of quality left-sided defenders, Il Corriere dello Sport has revealed.

Considering Federico Balzaretti’s injury problems and the fact Dodo has yet to realise his full potential, the Giallorossi are on the lookout for a new left back.

Il Corriere dello Sport has suggested that Valencia starletJuan Bernat is one of the first names on club’s hit-list, but the problem is the youngster is also on the radar of other top European clubs.

FC Porto star Alex Sandro is another viable option, but while he could be available for sale, the high asking price could scupper any deal.

Other players currently on Roma’s radar include Davide Santon, Luca Antonelli and Gabriel Silva, while the Giallorossi are also looking at Fenerbahce midfielder Salih Ucan.

Roma have missed out on the Serie A trophy despite picking up 85 points from 36 games, but they are 29/20 to defeat champions Juventus on Sunday.
