Roma step up efforts to sign Jese

The Italian giants Roma are nurturing a long-term admiration for the Paris Saint-Germain striker and seem to be determined to do everything in their power to land the former Real Madrid striker during the January transfer window.

Giallorossi regard the Spaniard as a perfect replacement for Mohamed Salah, who is with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations and are willing to offer a loan deal for the 23-year-old.

Jese himself was believed to be keen o na move back to La Liga, with Las Palmas already expressing their interest to grab the powerful striker, but Roma are not willing to rest their case just yet.

The Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport reports that Roma are stepping up the efforts for out-of-favour PSG forward, adding that the club officials are working to convince the player a move to Roma could be of great benefit to his career.

Jese has this season made 9 Ligue 1 appearances, only one of which was start. The Spaniard also has only one goal to his name thus far.
