Steaua midfielder Alexandru Chipciu is interested in a move to Ajax, the player’s representative has revealed.
The talented winger has been in impressive form this season and he has caught the eye of Ajax Amsterdam scouts in the process.
The Dutch giants plan to add the 23-year-old to their ranks in the summer transfer window, and the player’s agent has now invited Ajax to bid for his client.
“Ajax are a stepping stone for a number of young Romanians. Alex would fit in the philosophy of the club, he can grow there,” Tima Tanase told Romanian newspaper ProSport.
Chipciu has a contract until June 2016 at Steaua and is valued at €4 million by the Romanian giants.
Alexandre Chipciu began his career at Brasov, but he was snatched by Steaua in January 2012. He went on to make 35 league appearances for the club, scoring 7 goals in the process.
The Romania international can operate as a winger or attacking midfielder and he is lined up to replace Isaac Cuenca, who will return to Barcelona when his loan deal expires at the end of the season.
