The futures of Ronaldinho, Deco and Eto’o have the been the subject of much debate since the start of the summer. The trio have been linked with the likes of Chelsea and AC Milan, but it has only recently been confirmed that the three of them have no future at Barcelona.
“All of the players in the first-team squad last season are of a very high level. But with the technical secretary we are forming a squad and Deco, Ronaldinho and Eto’o are not in our minds.” Said new Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola, according to The Times online.
“If I felt that he wanted to be the player he was again, he would be here. But the situation has deteriorated and the solution is to build a strong dressing-room.”
Ronaldinho has been linked with Manchester City, while Deco has all but joined Chelsea. The transfer fees which the media mentions for the Brazilian duo seem to be mere formalities given their status. However, Samuel Eto’o finds himself in a different pot.
The transfer fee which Barcelona is believed to be holding out for is quite preposterous. The Cameroonian is in high demand among Europe’s elite and the Catalan club believes that it can demand a transfer fee of as much as €50 million for their out-of-favour striker, according to The Sun.
