AC Milan and Juventus suffered major injury blows on Saturday as they bid to try to catch Serie A leaders Inter Milan.
Milan will be without Ronaldinho and Clarence Seedorf for the visit of Catania on Sunday while Alessandro Del Piero is out of Juventus's trip to Lecce.
Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti is already without defenders Daniele Bonera and Alessandro Nesta, midfielders Andrea Pirlo and Massimo Ambrosini and forwards Marco Borriello and Filippo Inzaghi.
Both Brazilian Ronaldinho and Dutchman Seedorf have muscular problems meaning Andrei Shevchenko and teenager Pato will probably lead the line with Kaka just behind the pair.
Juventus will be without Italy midfielder Mauro Camoranesi as well as veteran Del Piero for their tricky trip south.
Juve are second and Milan third in the table, both six points behind Inter who were due to play away to Lazio later Saturday.
