Ronaldo did not want to join Real Madrid – Vidic

Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic claims Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo did not want to join Real Madrid in the summer.

Vidic told the Sun: “Cristiano didn’t really want to leave for Real Madrid in the summer, even though the media went crazy with the story.

“Fergie has a special relationship with all of his players and Cristiano is no different.

“He will be a massive player for us this year.”

The Serbian international also expects Ronaldo will get even better in the coming months.

He added: “Cristiano was injured at the beginning of the season and has not reached his best yet.

“But he’s getting there and I’m sure he will deliver for the team like he did last season.

“The club expects a lot from him but he’s a good guy, a great player and I’m very happy he is still part of the side.”
