Ronaldo linked with Manchester United return

The Express understands that Cristiano Ronaldo could make a sensational return to Manchester United at the end of this season.

The Real Madrid superstar was linked with a move away from the Bernabeu during the recently closed transfer window with United, Paris Saint Germain and sides in the MLS all said to be in the running to secure his services.

However he remained with Real and has enjoyed, even by his high standards, a superb start to the season which has seen him score eight goals in four games – all of which have come in the last week.

Ronaldo now has three hundred and twenty-one goals in all competitions for the La Liga giants, and his treble against Shakthar Donetsk in their Champions League opener on Tuesday evening took him to a record tally of eighty in the competition.

Internationally, he has fifty-five goals in one hundred and twenty-two outings for Portugal.
