The potential transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid was funny for the beginning part of the summer, now it has become plain dull. Real Madrid have run out of ideas to try and lure Ronaldo away from Old Trafford. They used everything to get their man: Marca, AS, The Sun, the godfather… nothing works.
Instead, the media games have upset Manchester United so much that they have decided to report the Spanish club to FIFA for trying to unsettle Ronaldo, that according to the Red Devil’s official website, manutd.com. Ramon Calderon might have insisted that his love for United was too great to let a player like Ronaldo ruin it, but publicly courting a player and claiming that it would be nice to have him play for your club is hardly classified under ‘miniding one’s business’.
To defend himself, Ramon Claderon has then said that Manchester United have no evidence, or at least that is what Sky Sports thinks he has said. Apparently Man Utd have no evidence because Real Madrid have done nothing wrong. But, in that case, Bernd Schuster has picked the worst possible time to say that the player would be a great signing.
Now, after Real Madrid has failed to buy Ronaldo using the media, they have decided to try a new and revolutionary method of signing a player: by lodging an official transfer bid. The Times thinks that Real Madrid will launch a £60 million bid for the player and hope that he will do the rest by trying to force United’s hands. Nah, they are not doing anything wrong.
