Rooney’s Old Trafford future in doubt

Manchester United star Wayne Rooney has yet to be offered a new deal at Old Trafford, reports Daily Mail.

The England international has come to terms with staying at the club after requesting a transfer during the summer and has in turn impressed in the opening exchanges.

However, despite the striker’s current deal due to expire in June 2015, the club executives have yet to offer him a contract extension.

Rooney is currently on a £220,000 a week contract and with the player on top of his game at the moment, the club will have to act quickly if they want to avoid unsettling him once again.

The 27-year-old has helped England qualify for the 2014 World Cup by scoring 7 goals in 6 qualifiers, while he has also impressed at club level.

Rooney has bagged 5 goals in 9 competitive appearances for Manchester United this season, but he wasn’t able to prevent a disappointing start to the Premier League campaign for the Red Devils.
