Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz says that he would seriously consider leaving the side if a “better of an ambitious club” came along.
The Paraguayan joined Blackburn in 2007 but misses the feeling of playing at major team: “I would really like to keep improving and performing better than I am doing right now,” he told the BBC.
“If a better or an ambitious club come in and want to offer me the chance I would like to take it.
“My contract with Blackburn is clear and for that I need to continue with the club. But I am looking to again play in a big side that is in Europe and trying to win their league,” the South American said.
Whether Santa Cruz gets the go-ahead to switch teams during the winter break, depends fully on new manager Sam Allardyce who claimed that no players were to be sold in this transfer window.
Roque Santa Cruz joined Bayern Munich from Olimpia Asuncion in 199 and helped the side win the Champions League 2001. After 155 appearances and 31 goals for the German giants, the player joined Blackburn in 2007.
