Rose drops down the list of United targets

After Toby Alderweireld, it seems Danny Rose has also fallen down the wish-list of Manchester United, at least according to the Telegraph.

The report claims Rose had been hoping to complete a £50million ‘dream move’ to Old Trafford after the World Cup, and if so, he will be dismayed by the news that Jose Mourinho doesn’t feel he needs another fullback at the moment.

Mourinho has already added Diogo Dalot to the left-back position, and as he already has the likes of Ashley Young and Luke Shaw also competing for the spot, signing Rose as well might be too much, especially for that price. Therefore, he has informed vice chairman Ed Woodward not to proceed with Rose interest but to focus rather on a centre-back, which he feels is a bigger priority. His plans might change yet should Shaw express a desire to leave the club, but at the moment it seems the Portuguese is turning away from his targets at Tottenham Hotspur.
