Sunderland’s manager Roy Keane is said to have entered the race for Manchester City’s captain Richard Dunne, and look to secure a £2.5million deal for the player.
The 28-year-old Irish man has one year left on his contract, and owner Thaksin doesn’t seem too keen on renewing it. Rather to lose him for nothing in a year, the club might cash in on their captain this summer, and use the funds on new players.
Keane, a former Republic of Ireland team-mate of Dunne, seems quite certain that their strong ties will put them as favorites for Dunne’s signature should he leave this summer.
