Former Liverpool forward Ryan Babel is set to complete a January move to Besiktas, the Turkish club have moved to confirm.
The Dutch winger is a free agent after leaving Deportivo La Coruna and it would appear he has already agreed to join the Black Eagles.
And while Besiktas revealed via their official Twitter account that they were in transfer negotiations with Babel, the fact that the forward has undergone medical examination is enough to suggest the deal should soon be wrapped up.
Following several difficult years, the 30-year-old has successfully kick-started his career in Spanish La Liga, having managed four goals in eleven league appearances for Deportivo La Coruna.
But, with his short-term contract having expired, Babel is now free to negotiate with interested clubs and it is now clear that he will soon sign a lucrative deal with Besiktas, who currently sit one point behind surprise leaders Istanbul BB in the Super Lig standings.
