French first division club Saint-Etienne announced on Tuesday that they have reached an agreement with Toulouse full-back Albin Ebondo over his transfer.
Ebondo’s contract at Toulouse had expired after he spent the last seven seasons at the club.
The 26-year-old will undergo a medical examination on Thursday before signing his contract, the duration and salary of which have not been revealed.
Ebondo will become the third player to join the 10-time champions this summer, after centre-back Sylvain Marchal signed from Lorient and midfielder Laurent Batlles arrived from relegated Grenoble.
United States captain Carlos Bocanegra is also on the verge of a move to the club and was expected to sign his contract on Tuesday, but he was unable to travel from the US due to an air traffic controllers’ strike.
