French full-back Franck Tabanou is set to return to Saint Etienne, the Ligue 1 side revealed on its official Twitter account.
The highly rated footballer joined the Premier League side in a €5 million deal last summer, but he was never given a chance to impress at Liberty Stadium.
Having failed to make a single league appearance during the six months in England, Tabanou is now set to return to Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
Saint Etienne coach Christophe Galtier confirmed that the agreement is on the horizon, with the 26-year-old set to join on loan until the end of the season.
Tabanou, who had been converted from winger to left-back during his first spell with les Verts, is expected to slot straight into the starting line-up at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
The talented footballer is no stranger to French Ligue 1, having amassed 203 league appearances during stints with Toulouse and Saint Etienne, scoring 19 goals.
