Saints want two more signings

Southampton plan to sign two more players in the summer transfer window, boss Ronald Koeman has moved to confirm.

The Saints seem to have managed to rebuild the squad following the departure of several key players, but they still have some money left in the bank.

Sky Sport has suggested that a defender and a winger are on club’s hit-list, but manager Ronald Koeman has refused to divulge any names.

“I don’t go and talk about names about players,” the Dutchman said after the Capital One Cup triumph over Milwall.

“In two positions we are trying to bring in new players and we hope to bring in this week.

“The club is doing everything for that and I hope that we will finish with that this week.”

Summer signings Dusan Tadic, Ryan Bertrand, Graziano Pelle and Fraser Forster have already nailed down regular starting berths, while Shane Long, Florin Gardos and Saphir Taider are also expected to play a part this term.

Having finished the previous Premier League campaign in 8th position and after showing plenty of potential in the matches against Liverpool and West Bromwich, the Saints are 7/4 for another top 10 finish.
