Liverpool are in talks with Mamadou Sakho over a new deal, according to Sky Sports.

The twenty-five year old has two years remaining on his current contract, and is yet to make a league appearance this season with Dejan Lovren and Martin Skrtel Brendan Rodgers’ first choice centre-back pairing.

He was linked with a loan move away from Anfield over the summer with Roma and Bayer Leverkusen both in the running to secure his services though potential deals failed to materialise and he could now be set for a Premier League return.

Liverpool have lost back to back league games leaving them in tenth place while they drew their Europa League opener with Bordeaux on Thursday evening., with Sakho playing the entire ninety minutes.

Next up for the Reds is a visit from Norwich City on Sunday afternoon, and the home win can be backed at a price of 4/6.
